I would give zero star if I could. Very bad customer service for a luxury apartment. There are better options and newer apartments in the North Gate area. Please don’t rent here or else you would be stuck. The elevators are always broken. The “sky deck” (special patio on the 15th floor) was under construction almost the whole year even though they charged 15th floor residents for the “special amenities.” The staff isn’t available and they don’t answer emails on time.
This is my 4th year living at Ion. When judging it according to the standard of College Station student apartments, this place has earned its 5 stars. When I first joined, Ion was still Aspire. I think this management is actually better than Aspire. In my Freshman and Sophomore year, broken elevators were a regular thing that happened on a monthly basis. After Ion took over, the elevators were down for quite a bit, but after that they just worked. I’ll update this review if they drop dead again this year, but so far so good.
I have lived at this apartment for two years, and unfortunately, my experience has become increasingly frustrating. The biggest issue is the way residents are treated by management and the front office. They are often petty, dismissive, and disrespectful, and the new management company they are under has made the situation even worse. It is extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone when there is an issue. Emails and calls often go unanswered, and when you finally do get a response, you are frequently given conflicting information or made to feel like your concerns are an inconvenience.
